Festival Awards

The 3rd Bath Cider Festival offered over 90 ciders and perries from across the West Country and Wales. As with the Bristol Spring Cider festival the previous month, the ciders and perries will be judged by the general public. Many thanks to everyone who voted for their favourites.

The winning ciders were:

Cider of The Festival: Lilley's Apples & Pears (Lilley's Cider Barn, Somerset)

  • Best Dry Cider: Kingston Black (Lilley's Cider Barn, Somerset)
  • Best Medium Cider (joint winners): Sheppy's Medium Cider (Sheppey's Cider) and Rich's Farmhouse Medium Cider (Rich's Farmhouse Cider)
  • Best Sweet Cider: Sheppy's Sweet Cider (Sheppey's Cider)
  • Best Sweet Perry: Lilley's Apples & Pears (Lilley's Cider Barn, Somerset)
  • Best Medium or Dry Perry: Gwynt Y Ddraig Pider (Gwynt Y Ddraig, Wales)
  • Best Bottled/Sparkling Cider: Broadoak Vintage Cider (Lilley's Cider Barn, Somerset)

The following ciders and perries were also rated as "Recommended" (in the top 20): Bee Sting Perry, Mango Perry, Broadoak Perry, Pheasant Plucker, Bristol Port, Old Bristolian, Raspberry Perry (all Lilley's Cider Barn), Legbender, Rich's Sweet Farmhouse Cider (Rich's), Gwynt Y Ddraig Scrumpy (Gwynt Y Ddraig), Yarlington Mill (Gwatkin's), Thatcher's Gold (Thatcher's Cider) and Cornish Rattler (Cornish Cyder Farm, Cornwall).
