The
Mangledwurzels - A Christmas Party Band!
When
The Mangledwurzels first formed, we envisaged that we would be playing
pubs and clubs, maybe an agricultural show or two - and perhaps
some music festivals. It didn't occur to us that we would be booked
for Christmas parties. How wrong we were!
Although
the band has done some Christmas shows in previous years, in 2007
we were approached by Cadbury Garden Centre in Congresbury near
Bristol to do two special Christmas shows. As well as our normal
songs, they wanted us to play clazzic Chriztmaz zongs with a Zummerzet
zound. Could we do it?
Of
course we could!
It
meant starting from scratch as we only had two Christmas songs in
our repertoire, but a lot of practising later we came up with a
full Christmas show. We used that to entertain children of all ages
(some with grandchildren of their own in tow!) at the Cadbury's
Christmas Special in October (!). A month later, we were back at
Cadbury's grand opening of Santa's Grotto in November - where we
had a special guest join us on stage with all his little elves...
And
we already have four more Christmas parties booked for December
2007!
Christmas
comes but once a year, so why not book The Mangledwurzels for a
special - indeed unique - Somerset Christmas party!

As
you can see from the band calendar, weekend dates do get booked
up rather quickly, so it really is advisable to book early to avoid
disappointment - unless you are willing to change your plans just
to have us there!

that first refusal is usually given to the first enquiry received.

The
Mangledwurzels have a 24 song Christmas repertoire from which you
can pick your favourite Christmas songs. And of course, we can mix
and match those with songs from our normal set.
Note:
those songs marked with a star (*) do have a more adult theme and
are probably not suitable for audiences containing young children!
