| Description |
Ben
Crossman is the fourth (or is it fifth?
I can't remember for sure!) generation
of Crossmans to make cider at Hewish.
On my visit, I was welcomed by the incumbent
Ben Crossman and his father (see picture
right) ; Ben's son - the new generation
of Crossmans had just been sent home
for his dinner! Proper Somerset cider
makers in the old tradition! |
| Ciders |
Ben
Crossmans Farmhouse Cider is produced
from apples grown in their own orchards.
The ciders are available as dry, medium,
sweet (blended) and a range of single
variety prime farmhouse ciders. The
cider is excellent quality - well balanced
and tasty, and made from traditional
cider apples. The cider is available
dry or sweet, but they'll be happy to
mix it to any desired level of sweetness
or dryness in between, according to
your taste. |

by road: Mayfield Farm is on
the south side of the major A370 road
at Hewish, between Weston-super-Mare
and Congresbury. Look for the small
"cider" sign. Fairly easy
to find compared to some others... |
