Hamstead Brewing Centre has been a family owned and operated company since 1984. In 1993 they expanded and moved to their current location where they built a warehouse and began producing cider. They then also developed a range of Brewgas bar equipment, opened a specialist off-licence section and a coffee department. They also developed what has generally been called the best home beer making pack available with York Brewery - and then opened their own winery.

Wobblygob Cider is a traditional English cider produced with no added sugar and water. It is oak-aged for a minimum of 12 months, and is listed in the CAMRA Good Cider Guide.

Retail store is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5.30pm.

In addition they hold regular open evenings believed to be the biggest in the country, at the last one they had over 80 different drinks available to try.
