Will undertake to identify your fruit variety so long as it is not grown from seed. Send 3 typical fruits packed in newspaper or bubble wrap. Also send a few leaves and as many details as possible about the tree, eg age, season it crops, locality etc. Cost 10 pounds.

Formed in July 1992 to represent and promote the interests of members in their cider and perry making activities. Membership is open to anyone who is a cider or perry maker. Associate membership is available for individuals who are not makers but are interested in the association's aims.

Brogdale Horticultural Trust is a registered charity on a former Ministry of Agriculture Station. It incorporates the National Fruit Collections (over 2,300 varieties of apples, 500 of pears, 350 of plums, and 220 of cherries as well as currants, gooseberries, nuts, medlars, and quinces). Guided walks are always available and a range of exhibitions and special events are staged. Opens every day (weekends and bank holidays included) from Easter to Christmas. 9:30 am to 5:00 pm.
