Wurzels
And Adge Cutler Discography
A
complete list of Wurzels and Adge Cutler recordings
This
is a list of the recorded output by Adge Cutler & The
Wurzels and The Wurzels. While claiming
it's completeness, we are aware that other releases might be out
there that we know nothing about - if you know of any, please contact
us.
Be
aware that most of the back catalogue are out of print and have
never been released on CD. We are in constant negotiation with EMI,
the record label who released most of the albums, about re-issuing
the material and as soon as we have any positive information, we
will let you know.
This
discography is dividing into three sections:
- Singles
& EPs (including CD-EPs)
- Albums
released on all formats (vinyl LP, cassette, CD, etc)
- Other
Releases (books, sheet music, videos, merchandise, programmes,
etc).
In
addition we have various other articles related to Wurzel releases:
Note:
Work is currently underway for a section listing Wurzels songs which
have appeared on other compilations albums. Also we are working
on overseas (import) releases of singles and albums.

Adge
Cutler & The Wurzels released 10 singles between 1966 and 1972,
with two being re-issued after Adge's death in 1974. Only one of
them, Drink Up Thy Cider, made it into
the UK Singles Charts.
The
Wurzels subsequently released over 30 singles, and have achieved
chart success several times, with
Combine Harvester reaching the #1 slot
and staying there for two weeks. They are still as active as ever,
and their most recent single, a re-make of One For The
Bristol City, reached the lower ends of the singles
charts.
Adge
Cutler & The Wurzels only released four albums, all recorded
live. There were also three 'best of' compilation albums purely
of Adge's releases, and subsequently Adge's tracks have appeared
on several CD 'best of' compilations with The Wurzels' post-Adge
material. Only one of Adge's original four albums, Cutler
Of The West, has been re-issued on CD.
The
Wurzels released six albums and two compilations on EMI before they
were dropped in the late 1970s; and one further album in 1981. Since
then their releases have mostly been live albums and compilations.
Their 2002 album Never Mind The Bullocks was the
first album containing 'new' Wurzels material (albeit all covers)
since 1981.
This
section of the website covers all other 'releases' by the band.
This covers a while gamut of Wurzels 'releases' - the one live video
they have produced, and a shellful of books and sheet music, programmes
and some highly collectable merchandise from days gone by.
