Bob
Barrett Passed Away (February 2004)
We
have just received the very sad news that Bob Barratt, who produced
all of Adge Cutler and The Wurzels' records at
EMI, passed away at the age of 65 on Monday 26th January 2004. Bob
was one of the great unsung musical heroes who championed many regional
artists including The Fivepenny Piece, The Houghton Weavers and
Max Boyce as well as Adge and The Wurzels; none of who would probably
have become nationally known without his drive and real enthusiasm
for these truly British artists. He will be greatly missed; we send
our deepest condolences to Bob's family.
